Often times when attending college Professors will ask you to write short research papers about something to do with your class. When they are assigned the normal college students thinks:
Damnit, shit, oh wait, no, good it's only six pages, and it's not due for three weeks. What the hell is APA format? I NEED MORE THAN TWO SENTENCES PER PARAGRAPH?!?!
However, not being a normal college students I think to myself:
How the hell do I explain anything in six pages? Am I supposed to work on it for three weeks, because by then there is no way that it will only be six pages long. Why would he ask for APA format if he didn't want and abstract? He has to tell people to not write two sentence paragraphs? Shit, I wish I could just skip this and start writing my dissertation.
Now, that being said, I don't know how many of you have spent time reading psychological articles about studies on medication for ADHD but it is not a simple task. While their subject matter is pretty easily understood finding the actual writing in the midst of citations and publication dates is extremely difficult. I am not impressed. There has to be a better system than junking up your entire article with last names of people no one cares about. Don't they know that I have to read this stuff?
On a side note, I am at my mothers. I have referred to this place before as 'land of the Luddites' and am happy to report that not only do they now have cable, hybrid cars and MAC computers, they actually have wireless internet. The road still isn't paved, but at least we've gotten somewhere. Not to mention the serious decrease in livestock from the last time I was here.
I can't express how happy I am about that last part. I hate livestock. They're dirty, and stupid.
